HR Manager

Location: East Rand
Type: Full-time, Office-based
Salary: R48 000 – R50 000 (gross, per month)

Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 08h00–17h00

Overview

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee a full HR function within a fast‑paced, structured environment. This role is ideally suited to a seasoned HR professional with strong interpersonal skills, proven integrity, and the ability to manage a wide range of HR and administrative responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in senior HR roles, be located in the East Rand, and be fully confident handling both operational and strategic HR tasks.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Manage end‑to‑end recruitment and selection processes.
  • Oversee onboarding, induction, and probationary reviews.
HR Administration & Compliance
  • Draft and manage employment contracts and statutory documentation.
  • Create, organise, and maintain employee files.
  • Handle payroll collation (leave, overtime, subsistence, salary changes, provident fund reconciliations).
  • Complete SARS Easy Filing submissions (bi‑annually).
  • Manage yearly Employment Equity submissions.
  • Coordinate and submit the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR).
  • Complete yearly Workmen’s Compensation (Rate of Earnings) submissions.
  • Administer Health & Safety documentation and processes.
Employee Relations & Support
  • Provide guidance to branches on HR‑related matters.
  • Manage disciplinaries, counselling, and conflict resolution.
  • Liaise with unions and manage industrial relations when required.
  • Represent the company at the CCMA.
  • Collate, record, and manage Injury on Duty (IOD) cases.
Operational Support
  • Minute director and management meetings with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assist with policy development and updates.
  • Coordinate employee training and development initiatives.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in a senior‑level HR role.
  • Based in the East Rand (essential).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
  • Solid understanding of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience with payroll collation and liaising with external payroll consultants.
  • Demonstrated experience in chairing or managing disciplinary and IR processes.
Remuneration & Conditions
  • Salary: R48 000 – R50 000 gross per month.
  • Benefits: Provident fund and an annual 13th cheque (December).
  • Leave: 15 days per annum.
    • The company closes for 3 weeks over December/January, during which annual leave must be taken.
    • Additional leave taken during the year is permitted but will be unpaid.
  • Working Hours: 08h00–17h00, Monday to Friday.
  • Environment: Office‑based; no hybrid option.
  • Minimal after‑hours work required.
  • Annual salary increases: Implemented in June.
