HR and Risk Officer - Sandton

Our client seeks a HR and Risk Officer with 5+ years experience.

The HR and Risk officer will need to develop, review, and improve policies, systems, and procedures; and ensure the company's needs in this area are met satisfactorily.

The ideal candidate must be analytical, deadline driven, knowledgeable, and organized with an initiative‑taking attitude and strong people skills.

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role
Key Duties
  • Delivering and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategies.
  • Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, and other issues.
  • Employee wellness programme and positive motivation mechanisms.
  • Monthly payroll run / Consulting with outsourcing company (full payroll functions).
  • Processing payroll bank account transactions on Pastel.
  • Loading payroll‑related expenses onto bank.
  • Employee database and HR tasks.
  • Performance management / disciplinary processes of non‑performing employees.
  • Managing any necessary employee training.
  • Managing the recruitment and selection process.
  • Onboarding new employees.
  • Employee exit programme and analysis.
  • Leave tracking and management.
  • SARS compliance.
  • Health and safety compliance.
  • Monthly / quarterly incident reporting.
  • Risk assessments.
  • BEE certification / audit – compliance.
  • Insurance review and negotiations.
  • COID.
  • Skills development.
  • EE submission.
  • Company policies and procedures – draft and manage.
  • Authority framework with internal controls; risk audits and assessments.
  • POPI compliance.
