Overview

We are seeking an experienced Head of Crypto Trading to lead our digital assets trading operations across Africa.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record in proprietary trading and a deep understanding of both crypto and traditional markets, with strong familiarity across Pan‑African financial ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement proprietary crypto trading strategies across spot, derivatives, options, and De Fi, incorporating Pan‑African market dynamics.

Conduct in-depth macroeconomic, credit, and political risk analysis to identify trading opportunities in crypto and traditional markets.

Execute trades efficiently while managing portfolio risk, focusing on sovereign credit, FX convertibility, and political event risk.

Monitor and optimize portfolio performance, ensuring adherence to firm‑wide risk and trading protocols.

Lead and mentor the trading team, sharing insights and refining strategies collaboratively.

Collaborate with analysts, risk, compliance, and technology teams to enhance trading infrastructure and execution.

Stay updated on blockchain innovations, crypto market trends, regulatory developments, and macro conditions across Africa.

Prepare regular reports on trading performance, market conditions, and strategy adjustments.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in crypto trading (spot, derivatives, De Fi), with exposure to FX, local currency bonds, or rates a strong plus.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related (preferred).

Knowledge of Pan‑African markets and cross‑border financial flows.

Proven leadership experience managing trading desks or teams.

Strong understanding of trading systems, risk frameworks, and market microstructure.
