Job description

A leading organisation in the FMCG environment is seeking a qualified Head of Financial Accounting to oversee the full finance function across multiple entities.

Minimum Requirements :

• BCom degree or equivalent (SAICA / SAIPA Articles advantageous)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS; GAAP beneficial)
• Proficient in Evolution or similar accounting systems
• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
• Fluent in English with excellent communication abilities

Key Responsibilities :

• Full financial management, including preparation of consolidated financials
• Cash flow reporting, forecasting, and budget coordination
• Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and statutory regulations
• Lead audit processes and manage internal controls
• Analyse financial performance and drive variance reporting
• Review and approve reconciliations and payments
• Liaise with banks, SARS, external auditors, and key stakeholders
• Manage a finance team of 10+, including a dedicated creditors function
• Drive performance management, coaching, and development initiatives
