Job Overview

At Calgro M3, we are dedicated to building legacies and transforming lives by pursuing authentic architectural design tailored to provide cost‑effective, well‑rounded solutions for our clients. We are seeking a mid‑to‑senior level Professional Architect (professional registration required) with a strong understanding of the residential market.


The ideal candidate should possess a diverse skill set encompassing design expertise and hands‑on experience. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit software and extensive Revit experience are essential. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of effectively leading an in‑house architectural team and collaborating closely with our internal professional teams, including Town Planning, Quantity Surveying, and Development Management.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Project briefing

    • Produce conceptual design documentation that aligns with the design brief.

    • Ability to connect the client's requirements with a successful conceptual proposal for internal approval.

    • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

    • Analyze and extract the full scope of the project in accordance with project requirements.

    • Gain buy‑in and commitment from all parties.

    • Exercise judgment when assessing risks.

    • Proactively solve problems and express own opinions.



  • Design and Preliminary Drawings

    • Develop all aspects of project design and design development.

    • Thoroughly question and gather complete brief information upfront to prevent service delays.

    • Identify and solve architectural issues through critical, analytical, and creative thinking.

    • Utilize up‑to‑date research methodologies.

    • Make informed decisions on design details to meet the brief.

    • Design within the parameters outlined in the client's brief.

    • Consider construction protocols and adhere to design parameters, conditions, and building regulations.

    • Produce accurate and swift sketch drawings.

    • Demonstrate patience, close collaboration with the team, and effective communication.

    • Foster good working relationships.



  • Working Drawings and Specifications

    • Manage the coordination of information among the team and internal & external consultants.

    • Plan and prioritize work for oneself and the team, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

    • Interact effectively and coordinate efficiently with consultants.

    • Support the team in accurately inputting data into the Revit system.

    • Continuously analyze and remain alert to any design areas that may impact the project.

    • Quickly adapt to changing work demands as needed.

    • Ensure the team complies with building regulations and requirements.

    • Ensure work is completed on time and as per the information schedule.



  • Construction and Site Meetings

    • Monitor project progress and ensure work aligns with project requirements.

    • Collaborate and maintain constant communication with contractors and consultants.

    • Assist and actively manage information for contractors, consultants, and internal team members.

    • Plan and prioritize work, and communicate effectively with the team.

    • Address contractors' Requests for Information (RFI) list.

    • Attend meetings and follow up on planned actions.

    • Proactively resolve problems and make necessary decisions.

    • Actively inspect construction sites.

    • Manage and issue quality assurance and contractor defect reports.

    • Keep administration records up to date and follow protocols.

    • Build relationships with contractors and consultants.



  • Administration

    • Establish and adhere to internal office administrative processes and protocols.

    • Save information in the correct directory on the server / network system for easy access by team members.

    • Maintain records of all project discussions and scope changes to support decision‑making and track responsible parties.

    • Document personal notes from discussions and meetings.



  • Project Management

    • Management of the internal Architect team and Architectural project items: plan, manage, monitor, and evaluate specific activities to achieve project objectives.

    • Take accountability for project outcomes.

    • Lead the project team, contractors, and consultants; monitor activities, communicate effectively, and maintain decision records.

    • Analyze risks, solve problems, and plan contingencies.

    • Foster a climate of mutual trust and respect in relationships.




Desired Experience & Qualification


  • Master of Architecture degree.

  • Registered with SACAP.

  • Minimum of 8–10 years of post‑qualification experience.

  • Excellent proficiency in REVIT.

  • Essential experience in residential developments.

  • Demonstrated creative problem‑solving and design skills.

  • Preferred experience as a Project Architect and/or Principal Agent.

  • Ability to successfully manage an internal team.
