PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The primary objective of this position is to institutionalise asset management best practices to achieve organisational goals. The role focuses on implementing strategies that optimise asset performance, utilisation, total cost of ownership, and long-term operational reliability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Electrical- or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) essential.
  • Professional Engineering registration and an asset management qualification will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a senior maintenance management role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the mining value chain and integrated asset management across the full asset lifecycle.
  • Expertise in equipment performance optimisation and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in asset availability and reliability integration, lifecycle modelling, and tactical development.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Detail‑oriented, self‑driven, and results‑focused.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Develop and implement asset management strategies across the organisation.
  • Monitor, analyse, and benchmark asset management KPIs to ensure consistent performance.
  • Drive digital transformation through adoption of advanced technologies in asset management.
  • Establish standardised lifecycle models, strategies, and work management systems for fixed and mobile equipment.
  • Utilise emerging AI and prescriptive analytics to automate asset performance and lifecycle modelling.
  • Implement structured equipment integrity processes to prevent significant infrastructure failures.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, governance standards, and ethical responsibilities.
  • Support organisational transformation, empowerment objectives, and succession planning.
  • Develop solutions for underperforming assets and optimise shutdown cycles.
  • Integrate safety, sustainability, and health requirements into maintenance tactics.
  • Investigate and resolve non‑compliance issues where necessary
