Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated German Language Teacher to join our team and support candidates who are preparing to work onboard cruise ships. The ideal candidate will have at least B1 level German proficiency and be capable of teaching practical language skills to beginners and intermediate learners. This role is focused on equipping candidates with the ability to communicate confidently in everyday situations, hospitality tasks, and customer service interactions onboard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver structured German lessons up to B1 level, covering speaking, listening, reading, and basic writing skills

  • Develop lesson plans, exercises, and interactive activities tailored to adult learners and the cruise ship hospitality environment

  • Focus on practical, real-world language use, including customer service phrases, greetings, simple instructions, and onboard communication

  • Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to suit varying skill levels

  • Motivate and support learners to build confidence in speaking and understanding German

  • Collaborate with the Maritime Skills Academy team to align teaching objectives with program goals

  • Encourage a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements
  • At least B1 German proficiency (spoken and written)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to explain grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation clearly and effectively
