We are currently looking for a General operator/Solder hand who has previous experience in the Electrical industry.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum: Grade 12 / Matric (with Mathematics & Science advantageous).
- Preferred: Certificate/Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Prior experience in hand soldering and electronic component assembly (1–2 years).
- IPC certification (e.g., IPC-A-610) is advantageous.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of soldering techniques and handling small electrical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Quality-conscious with the ability to spot defects.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Basic problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hand soldering of electrical and electronic components onto PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) and wiring assemblies.
- Assemble electrical components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to technical drawings and work instructions.
- Inspect and test soldered joints for quality, strength, and compliance with IPC standards (if applicable).
- Identify and report defective components or assembly issues to the supervisor.
- Operate basic assembly tools and equipment safely (soldering irons, heat guns, crimping tools, etc.).
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations according to 5S principles.
- Follow production schedules, targets, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) requirements.
- Support general production duties such as packing, labelling, and material handling when required.
