Job description
A dynamic and rapidly growing international company in the media and technology sector is seeking a General Manager (Sales and Operations) to lead and expand its South African operations. This is a high-impact leadership role for an entrepreneurial professional who can drive growth, build strong client relationships, and ensure operational excellence.

Reporting directly to the Global CEO, the successful candidate will take full ownership of the local business managing day-to-day operations, leading sales strategy, and executing on the Company's vision to scale in the South African market.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and compliance.

  • Implement and refine systems, processes, and performance controls.

  • Manage financial budgets, forecasts, and reporting in collaboration with international headquarters.

  • Ensure adherence to local legislation, contracts, and company policies.

Sales & Business Development

  • Own and execute the sales strategy to drive revenue and market growth.

  • Build, manage, and strengthen client relationships as the local face of the business.

  • Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and growth channels.

  • Set, track, and achieve ambitious sales and business development targets.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Act as the strategic and operational leader for the South African office.

  • Collaborate with global leadership to align local operations with corporate objectives.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing local team.

  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support long-term growth.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Business Management, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA advantageous).

  • 5 to10 years experience in a senior management role involving both operational oversight and sales leadership.

  • Proven track record of revenue growth, client portfolio expansion, and business scaling.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L.

  • Background in media, technology, or digital solutions sectors preferred.
