Job description
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Assist in managing the company's fixed assets and project accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Overseeing the financial lifecycle of fixed assets and building projects includes project cost tracking, processing diverse asset transactions, calculating depreciation, and ensuring appropriate capitalisation in line with company policies and accounting standards. The role also manages accounts payable for building projects, approves capital purchase orders, supports capital budget and project creation in SAP, and supervises administrative functions to ensure quality, performance, compliance and informed decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
  • Supervise and coordinate project accounting processes and project system administration for Mediclinic building projects
  • Manage and coordinate the accounts payable function for building projects, including vendor onboarding and BBBEE compliance administration
  • Supervise and coordinate fixed asset accounting, policies and procedures, including assets under construction
  • Administer and coordinate capital purchase order approvals and capital budget creation within the system
  • Financial control and reporting
  • Monitor workflows and system processes, provide support, and drive continuous improvements and process standardisation
  • Minimise and control risks; ensure audit compliance
  • Supervise and develop team members
REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

  • B.Com Accounting / Finance degree
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of relevant working experience in a corporate finance department
  • 3 years of experience in fixed asset accounting
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • SAP ERP system experience (SAP FI/CO or SAP Asset Accounting module)

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in fixed asset and project accounting
  • SAP Projects system experience
