Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Implementation
Ensures BET strategy implementation by monitoring against budget and strategic targets.The Team Member will formulate plans in the business to tie into the strategic goals of the business and manages Team delivery against set strategic plans and timeframes, identify obstacles and pro-actively address these in terms of solutions for such challenges and implementation thereof.Facilitate monthly management meetings as part of implementation and drive accountability. This will ensure BET Software’s growth objectives are met.Assists the Commercial Manager with job costing templates, utilization of time sheets, creation of job codes, billing of time worked, overhead calculations, break even rate per hour per level, and monitoring actual costs per hour vs actual sales amount to determine profit margin.Creates and maintains external charge out rate cards.Works with the Commercial Manager and Group Financial Manager to ensure seamless implementation of decisions, cost control, new processes, and ad hoc projects.Reviews and approves annual budgets to ensure efficiency in all financial operations.Reviews monthly management accounts including analysis / commentary to ensure a healthy cash flow.Reviews the annual financial statements to ensure a healthy cash flow.Reviews monthly and yearly balance sheet reconciliations.Liaises with external auditors during interim and year end audit to ensure all queries are responded to.Reviews and distributes monthly finance reports generated from the betting operating software to the relevant customers.Liaises with customers on finance report relating queries.Reviews and distributes monthly supplier variance analysis, revenue analysis and other related reports.Liaises with the various departments and business managers to ensure efficient reporting.Reviews and approves non routine transactions (impairments, provisions, etc.).Reviews commercial agreements to ensure correct billing rates, tax implications and other finance compliance matters.Identifies control weaknesses and designs internal controls and implementation thereof.Reviews and approves adequate reassessment of useful lives, depreciation methods and residual values for tangible and intangible assets quarterly.Assists the BEE project team to ensure the improvement and sustenance of the companies BEE score.Optimizes the company’s financial position and financial performance.Support the General Manager, Commercial Manager and Group FM with specific projects, reports and data extractions to ensure that the Team has accurate information that is readily available.Assists the General Manager, Commercial Manager and Group FM with building financial models / billing models / project costing to.Has an understanding of all external software platforms and their back offices.Communicates with external service providers to resolve any financial queries.Reviews contracts with third party suppliers to ensure that the business is not exposed to any financial risk.Is responsible for overall people leadership for direct reports, including but not limited to, the creation and maintenance of job descriptions and KPIs as well as performance management, to ensure that the department is operates effectively.Ensures that the department is adequately staffed by participating in talent acquisition and management initiatives.Coaches and mentors direct reports to ensure that their professional goals , in line with the organisation’s goals, are met.Creates maintains and enforces company policies and procedures.Maintains department process write-ups / system descriptions and annual updating.Produces high quality, neat, logical, succinct, and formula linked work / templates / workbooks / financial models to ensure that the work / templates / workbooks / financial models are easy to follow and understand; and are chronologically saved / backed up and appropriately named.Qualifications
Finance related degree.SAICA completed Articles.Minimum 2 years management experience within a relevant finance related position.3-5 years commercial experience outside of articles.Understanding of main business drivers to impact on decision making; demonstrating financial awareness; controlling costs and thinking in terms of cash management, profit, loss and added value.Compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards.Financial and operational Metrics skillset.Excellent People, Communication and Interpersonal skills.Compliance, risk and quality management skills.Strategic and Analytical problem-solving, decision-making capability and skillset.Project Management Skills.Advanced Excel and Financial Modelling Skills.Leadership and Team Development Skills.Strong Attention to Detail and Accuracy.Experienced Stakeholder Management Skills.Apply Before : 08 / 01 / 2025
