Financial Manager at the Goedgedacht Trust

Location: Goedgedacht & Welbeloon (Swartland, Western Cape), Riebeeksrivier Road, Malmesbury, 7299

Type of employment: Part‑time (negotiable; full‑time possible)

Salary: Negotiable

Deadline: 31 January 2026

Role Purpose: To provide senior‑level financial leadership to the organisation, working closely with the Managing Director and Trustees to ensure financial sustainability, sound governance, and informed decision‑making across all operations.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic financial leadership and oversight to the organisation
  • Work closely with the Managing Director to ensure financial sustainability, solvency, and cash‑flow stability
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and management accounts
  • Lead and strengthen financial governance, compliance, and risk management
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee grant management, donor financial reporting, and audit readiness
  • Manage audits and ensure implementation of audit recommendations
  • Strengthen financial systems, controls, and internal processes
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to support leadership and trustee decision‑making
  • Support the alignment and integration of financial systems between Goedgedacht and Welbeloon
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Significant senior‑level experience in financial management, finance leadership, or equivalent roles
  • Experience working with boards, trustees, or governance structures
  • Experience in non‑profit, trust, or complex organisational environments (advantageous)
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and organisational skills
  • High levels of integrity, discretion, and accountability
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on when required
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
  • Ability to work onsite (part‑time or full‑time as agreed)
