Job summary

A leading South African firm is looking for a commercially minded Financial Executive to enhance business performance through effective financial planning. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in financial leadership, exceptional negotiation skills, and a solid commercial background. Key responsibilities include managing monthly accounts, budgeting, compliance, and staff management. A market-related salary package will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

  • 10 years' experience in finance or accounting role, 5 years in senior leadership.
  • Professional registration (CA / CIMA / SAIPA) advantageous.
  • Strong integrity and ability to maintain high work standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Oversee cash flow planning and compliance with income tax and VAT.

Their innovative product range has offered practical and effective cooking, outdoor and domestic solutions since 1989. The company currently has a vacancy for a commercially minded Financial Executive to drive business performance and growth through effective financial and commercial planning.

Key responsibilities
  • Timeous and accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Product costing and international procurement (negotiation, contracting etc.)
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Cash flow planning
  • Monthly reconciliations, accruals, and journals
  • Income tax and VAT compliance
  • Reviewing and improving internal financial controls
  • Staff management and support to the finance, HR and IT Teams
  • Year-end audit preparation
  • Risk management
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (BAcc / BCom)
  • Relevant professional registration will be advantageous (CA / CIMA / SAIPA)
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role with minimum 5 years in a senior financial leadership role
  • Strong commercial background and experience
  • Sound negotiation skills

  • Well-developed decision-making and problem-solving skills
