Role Overview

Our client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring technical accounting expertise, a solid understanding of financial operations within the financial services sector, and the ability to manage reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies. Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Honours or Professional Qualification advantageous).
• 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within fintech, payments, banking, or financial services.
• Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and exposure to ERP/accounting systems (Xero preferred)
• Working knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Experience supporting external audits and regulatory compliance processes.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Control

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts across all cost centres, ensuring data integrity.
• Support the month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
• Assist in the consolidation and reporting for group entities (local and international).

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Oversee supplier payments, expense management, and client billing cycles.
• Review and approve invoices, ensuring compliance with internal controls and tax regulations.
• Manage intercompany recharges and maintain invoice and recharge schedules.

Cash, Banking & Treasury

• Perform bank reconciliations across multiple currencies and accounts.
• Support cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and FX exposure tracking.
• Collaborate with trading and operations teams to reconcile settlement flows and payment gateways.

Audit, Compliance & Tax

• Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and internal governance policies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation to support financial audits and regulatory reviews.

Process Improvement & Systems

• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting and reporting processes.
• Support system upgrades, integrations, and testing of financial or ERP systems.
• Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial processes.
