Job Function

To provide expertise and advice to support the development of operational implementation plans and associated service delivery processes, methods and techniques and to perform, keep track of and report on the financial transactions of an organisational unit in accordance with financial policies and regulations, enabling informed management decision making and contributing to client / customer satisfaction, optimal profitability, reduced risk and compliance to regulatory and legislative requirements.

Key Performance Areas

• Provide expertise in assessing the gap between the current state and desired future direction and establish effective ways for closing the gap in own area of accountability.
• Provide advice and support in the analysis, development and implementation of best practice in area of specialisation.
• Obtain, analyse and report on business performance and identify initiatives that will improve business results.
• Provide value-added practice improvements, initiatives and services to deliver on organisational objectives.
• Participate in forums that positively contribute to functional knowledge improvement.
• Provide advice to prevent and reduce financial wastage in the relevant business area.
• Develop and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders that contribute to a culture of customer service excellence and collaboration.
• Obtain and analyse client related information to identify practice optimisation initiatives.
• Provide advice and give input to the service delivery excellence practice optimisation.
• Prepare and process month end journals.
• Prepare and analyse monthly flash reporting.
• Prepare and analyse financial reporting packs.
• Prepare and analyse general ledger reconciliations.
• Assets Management.
• Prepare and analyse budgets and forecasts.
• Co-ordinate and assist with the internal and external audit process.
• Manage the discipline in the department according to the company’s policies and procedures
• Compile ad-hoc financial reporting
