Our client is a well-established financial services provider offering a diverse range of insurance and risk management solutions is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team.

DBN | Permanent | R 30 000

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely monthly reporting to the Financial Manager.

The role ensures that all reporting, compliance, and financial analysis requirements are met, while contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and year-end processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate flash reporting packs and final accounts to the Financial Manager within deadlines.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and perform general ledger reconciliations.
• Compile monthly management packs for reporting channels.
• Provide financial commentary and value driver analysis.
• Prepare the group reporting pack.
• Complete underwriting and product profitability value driver reports.
• Assist with expense analysis and reporting.
• Submit monthly TMPS reporting.
• Maintain budget and forecast models.
• Manage business cash flows and cash flow forecasts.
• Assist in preparing annual financial statements.
• Liaise with auditors and provide required information.

Other Duties

• Prepare commission calculations.
• Assist in preparing board packs.
• Supervise Debtors and Finance Clerk.
• Support the application of new accounting standards.
• Keep updated with new tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements, while assessing impact on the business.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.Com or an equivalent Accounting Degree.
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar financial accounting role.
• Completion of SAICA articles (preferred).
• Experience in the insurance industry (advantageous).
• Strong financial reporting and analysis experience.
