Client is an Africa-focused logistics and equipment solutions company, founded in 2020 and headquartered in Mauritius, that delivers electric material handling equipment through a "machine-as-a-service" model. To strengthen this foundation, Client is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the Tanzanian entity's financial operations. The role will encompass end-to-end finance oversight including accounting, budgeting, cashflow, treasury, reporting, and compliance. The Finance Manager will also drive process improvement, support ERP and systems optimisation, manage stakeholder relationships, and prepare the business for future growth through team development and capacity building. This position is both operational and strategic - ensuring financial accuracy today, while shaping the systems and controls needed for tomorrow. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial management, strong compliance knowledge, and a proven commitment to upholding the highest standards of accuracy and accountability.

Key Deliverables:
  • Financial Oversight
    • Manage the company's general ledger, accounts payable, receivable, and inventory.
    • Ensure accounting policies are current, aligned with best practices, and accurately maintained.
    • Safeguard financial accuracy and integrity across all transaction streams.
  • Budget Management
    • Lead the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and operational expenses.
    • Implement and enforce internal financial controls
    • Ensure timely and accurate budget preparation aligned with business objectives.
  • Cashflow & Treasury Management
    • Manage daily cashflow planning and forecasting.
    • Oversee banking relationships, FX management, and ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
  • Reporting and Compliance
    • Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly financial reports to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
    • Oversee statutory accounts and ensure full adherence to IFRS and local regulations.
    • Ensure accurate invoicing and timely dispatch in line with client-specific requirements.
  • Process Improvement & Controls
    • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
    • Strengthen internal controls and risk management systems across the Tanzanian entity.
  • Stakeholder Relations
    • Manage relationships with bankers, auditors, and other financial stakeholders.
    • Provide clear, effective financial communication and reporting.
    • Maintain transparent and trusted relationships with external partners.
  • Asset and Audit Support
    • Maintain an accurate fixed assets register and monitor accounts receivable.
    • Collaborate with warehouse and site managers to reconcile stock usage and reports.
    • Support audits with documentation and analysis.
    • Ensure receivable trackers are up to date and B2B receivable days remain within agreed timelines.
    • Oversee invoicing processes, ensuring timely and accurate dispatch aligned with client requirements.
  • Team Development & Capacity Building
    • Support recruitment and onboarding of junior finance staff as operations scale.
    • Provide training and coaching to strengthen local finance capability.
  • Strategic Contribution
    • Contribute to organizational goals by supporting special projects delegated by the CFO/Financial Controller.
    • Participate in initiatives that strengthen financial performance and operational efficiency.
    • Provide insights to support strategic planning and long-term growth


Requirements

Experience Required:
  • Professional certification in accounting/finance (e.g., CFA, CGMA, ACCA, ICAN).
  • Strong knowledge and application of IFRS.
  • Proven experience in statutory reporting and compliance with Tanzanian tax and financial regulations.
  • Familiarity with client billing, invoicing processes, and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred)

Technical Requirements:
  • Proficiency with financial software and statistical modelling.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Problem-solving ability to manage budgets, assess risks, and propose practical solutions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry practices, IFRS, and Tanzanian regulatory frameworks
