Finance Manager (Europe & USA) – 3-Year Contract

We’re looking for a Finance Manager who wants genuine ownership, international exposure and the opportunity to shape a high-performing finance function. This role leads end-to-end finance operations for our Europe and USA entities while driving cash and treasury management across the wider group. You’ll work closely with the CFO and senior leadership, deliver accurate reporting that informs strategic decisions, and build consistent, reliable processes across multiple regions.

What You’ll Lead
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and support the finance team, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and consistent delivery
- Build capability through structured training and strong ways of working
- Establish standardised processes across Europe and the USA
- Provide clear communication, expectations and performance feedback
Financial Operations (Europe & USA)
- Oversee AP: contractor payments, supplier invoicing, staff expenses
- Oversee AR: permanent and contract invoicing, credit control and debtor management
- Resolve operational queries promptly and maintain strong internal and external relationships
Month End, Reporting & Insight
- Lead the full month end close for Europe and the USA
- Produce accurate management accounts with clear, actionable commentary
- Prepare reporting packs that help leadership understand performance drivers
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and provide forward-looking analysis
Cash & Treasury (Group)
- Monitor daily cash positions across all group accounts
- Maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasts
- Manage intercompany transfers, ensuring correct approvals and controls
- Track cash movements, elevate liquidity risks early, and support FX planning
Payroll (Europe & USA)
- Own payroll end-to-end in partnership with external providers
- Prepare inputs, manage approvals and reconcile outputs
- Oversee staff expenses and ensure compliance with local requirements
Audit, Tax & Compliance
- Lead year-end audits across Europe and the USA
- Support statutory account preparation
- Manage VAT, sales tax, Intrastat and other compliance obligations
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and controls
Risk, Controls & Continuous Improvement
- Identify financial risks early and recommend mitigation actions
- Strengthen controls and ensure consistency across all entities
- Standardise processes, reduce manual duplication and support automation
- Build meaningful analysis that improves planning and decision-making
What You Bring
- Experience managing or mentoring a finance team
- Strong VAT knowledge and international accounting exposure
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability
- Confident communicator, comfortable with senior stakeholders
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or finalist with strong multi-entity experience)
- QBE welcome with proven ownership of month end, audit and compliance
- Solid technical accounting background with audit exposure
- High attention to detail and accuracy under pressure

- Navision Dynamics / Business Central
- Multi-region finance management experience
