This role requires a BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within the motor industry. About the role A hands‑on, detail‑oriented Finance Manager to take full ownership of the dealership's finance and accounting function. This is a key leadership role responsible for financial integrity, compliance, and reporting accuracy. The ideal candidate is confident, process‑driven, and able to collaborate closely with the CEO, department heads and external stakeholders. NOTE : This role is office based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Perform and review bank reconciliations and petty cash reconciliations
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of general ledger, journal entries, and monthly closing processes
  • Submit monthly VAT returns and ensure reconciliation of VAT accounts
  • Process payroll journals and maintain fixed asset register (FAR)
  • Manage balance sheet integrity with valid and accurate reconciliations
  • Raise and post monthly provisions (incl. auto and reversing journals)
  • Liaise with banking partners regarding overdrafts and facilities
  • Oversee vehicle floorplan facilities, settlements, invoicing, and interest tracking
  • Manage compliance with FIC reporting, MIBCO, Department of Labour, SAPS
  • Act as FIC Reporting Officer and ensure regulatory compliance across departments
  • Manage the year‑end audit and facilitate manufacturer reporting requirements
  • Provide monthly performance reporting and attend management meetings
  • Analyse debtors, creditors, parts ageing, warranty claims, factory rebates
  • Review deal book accuracy and cost allocations in collaboration with Sales and F&I Managers
  • Print and analyse month‑end reports (e.g. ageing reports, commissions, provision schedules)
  • Assist in preparing financial presentations for manufacturers
  • Lead and develop a finance / admin team of 5, total complement of 55 employees
  • Monitor and maintain effective internal controls across departments
  • Support department heads with financial insights to improve performance
  • Reconcile related‑party balances and validate monthly commissions for payroll submission
Key Requirements
  • BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar (CIMA, SAIPA / SAICA articles advantageous)
  • Min 5 years' experience in a similar finance role (motor industry experience advantageous)
  • Proficient in accounting systems and MS Excel
  • Experience with manufacturer reporting and motor dealership systems (advantageous)
  • Excellent attention to detail and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving
  • Strong leadership skills to lead and grow the team
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
