An established financial services company requires an experienced and qualified Finance Assistant to provide bookkeeping assistance to the Management Accountant and to assist the Finance Manager as required. Your ability to meet deadlines timeously and work under pressure will be valuable in addition to your accuracy and respect to uphold a standard of excellence.

This is a permanent, in-office role. A work ethic that matches the professional manner in which you conduct yourself will set you apart in addition to your relevant workplace experience. Previous experience in the financial services industry is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Management Accounts
    • General ledger reconciliations
    • Preparation of accruals, prepayments and other related journals
    • Monthly detailed analysis of expenses versus budget
    • Assist in preparation of budgets
  • Debtors
    • Manage full debtors’ cycle from invoicing to receipt
    • Raise monthly and ad-hoc invoices
    • Debtors’ reconciliations
    • Age analysis reconciliations
  • Creditors
    • Verify invoices
    • VAT compliance
    • New supplier banking confirmations
    • Managing full creditors cycle from ordering to payment
    • Reconciliations: Creditors and Age Analysis
    • Match quotes / orders / authorisations to goods / services received / budgets
    • Intercompany account reconciliations
  • Staff Reimbursements / Expenses
    • Allocate bank transactions in Sage
    • Bank recons
    • Payments schedules month end & ad-hoc payments
    • Review and reconcile receipts/invoices monthly
    • Verify authorisations
    • Capture and allocate correct expense accounts
  • Banking
  • VAT
    • VAT201 review and reconciliation for Management Accountant

Requirements
  • Completed Accounting certification or degree
  • At least 3-5 years\' experience working in Sage (ideally Sage One and Intactt)
