Main Purpose Of The Position

How You Will Make an Impact

PPG Protective & Marine Coatings is seeking an experienced Field Technical Manager – EMEA to fulfil a hybrid technical and commercial role, supporting strategic customers, key accounts, and major projects across the EMEA region. The role combines technical service, specification leadership, technical sales enablement, and people management responsibilities. The position acts as a regional technical authority while managing and developing a team of Technical Service Representatives and partnering closely with Sales, Key Account Managers, and Segment Leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Field Technical Service (Regional)

• Provide advanced field technical support across EMEA.
• Act as escalation support for complex or high-risk projects.
• Conduct site audits, inspections, and condition assessments Month End Closing Processing.

Technical Sales & Commercial Enablement

• Partner with Sales and Key Account Managers on strategic accounts.
• Support tenders, specifications, and technical negotiations.
• Drive value-based selling through technical differentiation.

Specification Leadership & Project Support

• Support development and optimisation of coating specifications aligned with ISO 12944, NORSOK M-501, and project standards.
• Engage with consultants, EPCs, and asset owners during FEED, tender, and execution stages.

Technical Risk Management & Failure Analysis

• Lead coating failure investigations and root cause analysis.
• Prepare defensible technical reports and client correspondence.
• Support warranty and guarantee-related technical evaluations.

Technical Service Team Leadership & Management

• Directly manage, mentor, and develop Technical Service Representatives across the EMEA region.
• Allocate technical resources in line with project priorities and regional workload.
• Ensure consistent application of PPG technical standards, procedures, and reporting.
• Support performance management, competency development, and succession planning.
• Foster collaboration between Technical Service, Sales, and Supply Chain teams.

Training, Knowledge Transfer & Market Development

• Deliver training to customers, applicators, and internal teams.
• Act as a technical ambassador for PPG across the EMEA region.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Enforce PPG HSE standards and regional compliance requirements.

What You Bring

• 8–12 years’ experience in Protective & Marine coatings.
• Proven experience in technical service, commercial support, and people management.
• AMPP/NACE, FROSIO, or equivalent certification preferred.
