Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced factory manager in the Randburg area to oversee production and operations within a steel manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 qualification, management experience, and a minimum of 4 years in a managerial role. Responsibilities include ensuring quality control, compliance with safety legislation, managing staff, and driving process improvements. Competitive salary offered between R 22,000.00 - R 40,000.00. Overtime required on occasion.

Qualifications

SA - Gauteng, RandburgR 22 000.00 - R 40 000.00 Cost To Company (Provident Fund)Our client in the steel industry is looking for an experienced individual to be appointed as our factory manager in the Randburg areaMinimum requirements:

• Grade 12 or relevant NQF 4 qualification
• Management qualification will be a advantage
• 4 years plus experience as a factory manager or in managerial positions
• Factory floor/Production flow and staff management experience is non-negotiable
• Experience within the steel/metals industry will be beneficial
• Be willing to work overtime when necessary, but at least 1-2 Saturdays a month

Key Responsibilities:

• Production and Operations Management
• Quality Control and Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and company policies
• People Management and Leadership
• Ensure accurate control of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Monitor production costs, labour efficiency, and material usage
• Review daily, weekly, and monthly production reports
• Support on-time-in-full (OTIF) delivery performance.
• Ensure factory operations align with customer expectations and service levels
• Drive process improvements across production, quality, and logistics.
• Lead and support system changes, new equipment, or process upgrades
