Main purpose of the position

Currently we are looking for a Facilities Controller in Upington, Norther Cape, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Facilities Controller you will be responsible for the management and control of all third-party logistics documentation and document control processes during Operations and Maintenance phase. Oversee the control of all 3 Plants’ day-to-day accounting functions, handling purchase orders, monitoring expenditure, basic accurate financial reporting. You will be responsible for document and process governance within O&M management System and Enterprise Quality Management Software - iQs. General administration function on an adhoc basis supporting O&M reporting processes, working procedures, corporate communication and preparation of board packs for board meetings.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe Plant Office environment for all staff, with the implementation of all QHSSE requirements
  • Ensure all canteens and ablution facilities are stocked and serviced through the on-site Plant staff
  • Report any security related inefficiencies and matters to the Plant Supervisor and elevate to O&M Manager
  • Ensure all Plant office related QHSSE standards are met, audits and inspections are carried out according to the schedule and stock management processes
  • Review all hard and soft Facilities service level agreements entered into with external service providers
  • Control Plant PO Books and submit for O&M Manager approval
  • Manage and control all plant documentation during the operations phase
  • Adhere to the already developed Document Management System (DMS) for Operations & Maintenance
  • Prepare, operate and update Document Control Procedures in line with the Company’s Document Management System
  • Manage Reception desk at the Sirius plant
  • Oversee and coordinate Cleaners across all three Solar PV Plants
Qualifications And Competencies
  • Tertiary qualification in Business related field, i.e. transport, supply chain management or equivalent
  • 3+ Years proven experience in Renewable Energy Operations and Maintenance
  • Proven 5+ previous experience as Facilities controller on large scale renewable energy projects
  • Good knowledge of financial control processes
  • Familiar with e-Document management systems
  • Knowledge of Warehouse and Delivery processes
  • Basic understanding of Renewable Energy Operations and Maintenance processes
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, and the implementation thereof
  • Strong understanding of financial control procedures
  • Knowledge of warehouse and delivery operations
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory management and administrative processes
