A higher education institution in Gauteng seeks an Executive Director of Technology Transfer and Innovation. This leadership role requires driving innovation, managing relationships with industry and academic partners, and building a high-performing team. Candidates should possess a Masters degree and at least 8-10 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in intellectual property laws and commercialization. This position offers a contract in a dynamic educational environment.
Our client in Higher Education sector is looking for Executive Director Technology Transfer and Innovation to promote innovation and the commercialisation of new knowledge by undertaking basic and applied research and the promotion of technology and transfer.
A Masters Degree or NQF level 9 in Engineering Management / Technology Management / Business Administration / Digital Innovation or related fields.
Minimum 8 - 10 years experience, 5 years of which must have been in Senior Management within Technology Transfer and Innovation or similar environment.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of intellectual property laws, licensing agreements, entrepreneurship and the commercialization process.
Demonstrated ability to network and work with a wide range of constituencies internally and externally.
Proven experience in a leadership role within technology transfer, commercialization or innovation management.
Knowledge of academic research and administrative processes, regulatory frameworks and challenges of universities in emerging markets.
Excellent knowledge, understanding, and networking with fundraising, philanthropic foundations, corporate social investment and the university environment.
Experience in the higher Education sector will be an added advantage.
