We are seeking a reliable, warm, and well‑organised Event Assistant to support the delivery of in‑person events hosted at various venues across Pretoria. This is a fully on‑site, ad hoc role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and contributing to a professional, welcoming event experience.

The Event Assistant plays a key support role on event days, managing guest arrivals, attendance tracking, and on‑site coordination so that hosts can focus on engaging with members and facilitating meaningful conversations.

This position is designated in line with Employment Equity (EE) requirements. Fluency in Afrikaans is essential.

Time Commitment

3–4 hours per event

Evening events: 17:00 – 20:00

Occasional Friday afternoon events

Events are scheduled in advance and are not held weekly

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests on arrival and create a warm, professional first impression
  • Manage guest check‑in and attendance lists
  • Identify and record visitors or non‑members
  • Capture visitor details accurately for post‑event follow‑up
  • Assist with basic on‑site logistics, including guiding guests and answering questions
  • At activity‑based events (e.g., padel events), ensure guests:
    • Know where to go
    • Have access to food and beverages
    • Are checked in and accounted for
  • Act as an extra set of hands to allow hosts to engage fully with attendees
