Job description

Job Title: Environmental Scientist - Consulting Industry

Location: Westville, KZN

Responsibilities:

1. Project management of environmental assessment and monitoring projects
2. Develop proposal documents and budgets
3. Prepare reports applicable to Applications for Environmental Authorisations and Water Use Licences
4. Perform evaluations of environmental impacts and apply for water usage licenses
5. Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies
6. Produce detailed reports on findings and recommendations
7. Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met

Requirements:

1. BSc Honours in Environmental Management or related field
2. Master's degree in Environmental Management is advantageous
3. Registration with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA) is mandatory
4. Registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) is mandatory
5. At least 3 to 5 years of consulting experience
6. Excellent communication and client liaison skills
7. Knowledge of environmental regulations and legislation
8. Experience with mining projects is advantageous
