To lead, plan, and manage the engineering function to ensure that all plant, equipment, and systems are designed, maintained, and operated safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for driving technical excellence, continuous improvement, innovation, and compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & fabrication).
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Define clear objectives, priorities, and development plans for team members.
  • Develop and implement the engineering strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Oversee capital projects, equipment upgrades, and plant modifications.
  • Manage engineering budgets (capital and operational expenditure).
  • Forecast resource requirements and manage contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs are in place.
  • Drive equipment reliability and availability through data-driven performance monitoring.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective / preventive actions.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with statutory requirements (e.g., OHSA, General Machinery Regulations, Pressure Equipment Regulations).
  • Manage risk assessments, safe work procedures, and engineering controls.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications in accordance with standards.
  • Ensure projects meet quality, cost, safety, and schedule targets.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, and operations for project execution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, cost savings, and sustainability.
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies that enhance operational performance.
  • Liaise with operations, production, SHEQ, finance, and external regulators.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other departments.
  • Represent the engineering function in audits, inspections, and management meetings.
