Job description

Introduction

Electrical Systems Engineer – SA Projects. Permanent role based in South Africa, with local, regional, national and international travel as required for large/heavy industry projects.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical system modelling, protection design, fault studies, load flows and grading studies for all projects, ensuring compliance with South African national standards and any customer‑specific standards. Develop, document and maintain designs, specifications, equipment programming and commissioning plans and support technical teams through final acceptance testing and commissioning. Manage project life cycle activities including design definition, budgeting, procurement, manufacturing supervision, testing and hand‑over during FAT, SAT and commissioning. Coordinate project resources, support tendering processes, enforce company policies and maintain high quality, discipline and teamwork. Mentor junior engineers, technicians and trainees and interface with sales, contract pursuit and project management departments to support the company’s strategic plan and business profitability.

Qualifications

• B Eng Electrical – Heavy Current, 3 to 6 years experience in large/heavy industry environment.
• Strong technical competence in industrial electrical reticulation, protection and associated electrical machinery.
• Good exposure within an industrial environment and associated electrical reticulation, protection and other electrical machinery.
• High level of technical competence and understanding of such equipment.
• Driver’s licence, passport (willing to travel regionally and abroad).
• Traceable references & clear criminal record.

Salary & Benefits
