A beverage production company in Johannesburg is looking for a Maintenance Millwright to ensure operational efficiency by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing both electrical and mechanical systems. This is a full-time position, with standby duty required after hours.
Job Description
This role plays a crucial part in ensuring operational efficiency across all beverage-related processes.
As a Maintenance Millwright, you will focus on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production, packing, and site equipment.
Maintain and upgrade electrical panels, wiring, sensors, and control systems.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on beverage production lines, conveyors, pumps, motors, and packaging equipment.
Perform mechanical adjustments and replacements to maintain optimal equipment performance.
Conduct scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance on all electrical and mechanical systems.
Identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns and ensure equipment longevity.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
Ensure all installations meet safety, performance, and operational standards.
Adhere to all OHS Act regulations and site-specific safety protocols.
Ensure safe handling of electrical components and mechanical tools.
Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and installations.
Provide feedback on equipment performance and suggest improvements.
Communicate effectively with production teams and supervisors.
Provide technical support and training where necessary.
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, and motor control.
Solid understanding of mechanical systems in beverage production environments.
Registered Millwright.
Relevant N3 / N4 qualification or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5-10 years experience in a beverage or FMCG production environment.
Experience with automated production lines and packaging machinery.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues efficiently.
Capable of lifting and handling heavy equipment.
Comfortable working in various environmental conditions.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
Code 10 license with PDP (Professional Driving Permit) required for on-site travel.
Full-time position.
Standby duty required after hours, weekends, and public holidays for emergency repairs or preventative maintenance.
