Emeris Durban North has a vacancy for a part-time lecturer, for the School of Management, in the following module :

  • Economics 1A
Key Performance Areas
Lecturing
  • Lecturers on programmes (preferably lecturing in the IIE qualification) across various modes of delivery where relevant.
  • Marking of assessments and giving students timely feedback.
  • The lecturer is required to internally moderate assessment scripts that fall within their subject fields across the IIE sites of delivery.
  • Provide lecturer Development and Support according to processes and procedures, and this may include conducting peer reviews, facilitating workshops and providing one-on-one consultations.
Student Development & Support
  • Championing / leading and managing the academic development and support for a specific programme and its students.
  • Tracking student success and implementing support interventions where required.
  • The successful candidate is required to promote a culture of scholarship within their practice, discipline team and contribute towards the campus (Emeris Durban North) in achieving its annual research output targets.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Ideal : Honours in Economics
  • Alternatively : Honours degree in one of the Business-related fields with Economics to third year level.
  • Bachelor’s degree with Economics or a similar related field to the third-year level PLUS either an MBA or a postgraduate diploma in business or education.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • Lecturing experience in Economics is critical, due to the nature and complexity of this module.
  • Work or lecturing experience as an econometrician or consultant in this field.
  • Work experience as an economist.
Working Conditions
  • Please note that this is a part‑time position.
  • Lectures take place between 08:00 - 17:00 during weekdays.
  • Classes are conducted face–to–face on campus.
