SUMMARY : POSITION INFO :

Our client, a leading manufacturer within the South African automotive sector, is seeking a skilled Draughtsman to join their dynamic team at their plant in Pretoria West. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks, playing a critical role in the design and manufacturing process for heavy vehicles.

Essential Experience :

• We will only consider candidates with a background in buses, minibuses, trucks, trailers, or other Original Heavy Vehicle Manufacturing (OHM)
• National Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience as a Draughtsman within the relevant automotive manufacturing industry
• High proficiency in SolidWorks

Key Responsibilities :

• Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and models using SolidWorks
• Interpret engineering specifications for vehicle structures, including frames, chassis, cladding, and electrical diagrams
• Prepare comprehensive layout, assembly, and part drawings for various components
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards (SABS, ISO, OEM, NCRS)
