About the Role
Millennium Roofing is entering its next phase of growth and seeking a technically grounded General Manager / Operations Director to take full operational control of our timber roof truss design, manufacturing, and installation business. We're looking for a strategic operator—someone who understands structural engineering, has the commercial acumen to manage key accounts, and the leadership maturity to run day-to-day operations so the Managing Director can focus on business optimisation and growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end operations: design office, factory production, dispatch, and on-site installations.
• Take ownership of core client relationships—handle site challenges, resolve issues, and maintain service excellence.
• Identify and address process bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement across design, production, and logistics.
• Lead and mentor design, production, and installation teams to ensure accountability and quality.
• Provide data-driven operational feedback to senior leadership, driving improvements in delivery, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
• Ensure all operations comply with ITC, SANS, and structural standards.
• Champion the integration of systems such as Business Central, Power BI, and Power Apps to strengthen internal workflows.

Ideal Candidate

• Degree: BEng / BSc Civil or Structural Engineering (essential).
• Postgrad: MBA or equivalent business qualification (advantageous).
• Experience: 7–10 years in construction supply, timber manufacturing, or structural contracting, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
• Core Skills: Operational leadership and people management; technical problem solving and critical thinking; customer relationship management under pressure; process design and system implementation; excellent written and verbal communication.
