Job DescriptionManage the logistics and assets of the department, including the formulation of related policies in compliance with relevant legislation and frameworks.Oversee the departmental inventory, ensuring proper control and reporting mechanisms.Implement and maintain logistics policies effectively across the department.Develop and formulate policies related to logistical services and the procurement process of semi-official telephones.Manage the electronic implementation and continuous maintenance of logistics policies and procedures within the PAS 26 system.Act as Vice-Chairperson for the Forum of Logistical Aspects involving the public service sector.Oversee loss control and disposal management in compliance with legislation, regulations, frameworks, and departmental procedures.Manage and monitor departmental asset losses and ensure proper documentation.Supervise the disposal of departmental assets in alignment with regulatory requirements.Manage departmental transport operations, ensuring compliance with relevant acts, policies, and frameworks.Oversee and coordinate subsidized vehicle programs.Ensure the effective and efficient utilization of departmental transport and vehicle maintenance.Supervise training programs for provisioning administration systems and operational staff.Manage the department's human resources, finance, assets, and performance information related to logistics.
Job RequirementsUndergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) as recognised by SAQA in Logistics, Financial Management, or an equivalent field.Minimum of 5 years' experience at a middle / senior managerial level in a similar environment.Certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government (NSG) is compulsoryputer literacy and proficiency in relevant systems.Valid driver's licence required.Required Knowledge : Understanding of the Justice Cluster dynamics.Sound knowledge of Public Service policy and related legislative frameworks, including : Public Service Act and RegulationsPublic Finance Management Act (PFMA)Correctional Services Act of
