Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to hire a Digital Strategist for our client based in Midrand. The Digital Strategist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing integrated digital marketing strategies aligned to client objectives. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, creativity, and strategic insight to drive campaign performance, elevate client satisfaction, and support operational excellence within the Digital Operations function.
Strategic Planning
- Conduct detailed digital audits and assess client digital maturity.
- Build comprehensive digital marketing strategies aligned to client business, sales, and marketing goals.
Develop
- Audience segmentation and research.
- Communication and messaging plans.
- Marketing calendars.
- Content production strategies.
- Campaign concepts and performance road maps.
- Budgets, forecasts, and delivery timelines.
Project Management & Client Delivery
- Lead client onboarding and digital platform setup.
- Oversee monthly strategy fulfilment through Digital Marketers and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all deliverables.
- Manage all client-facing communication including strategic planning, reporting, troubleshooting, and additional requests.
- Monitor and report on client KPIs, ROI, and campaign performance.
- Identify opportunities for up selling, cross-selling, and service optimisation.
- Manage Dig Ops sales reporting and business unit workflow optimisation.
Data & Performance Analysis
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and consumer insights.
- Use analytics platforms to evaluate campaign performance and refine strategies.
- Produce actionable insights for continuous optimisation across all channels.
Thought Leadership & Training
- Stay informed on digital trends, emerging technologies, and platform updates.
- Provide internal training to Digital Marketers and other relevant teams.
- Offer client training where needed to support strategic implementation.
General Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and performance-manage Digital Marketers.
- Coordinate resource allocation across departments to support delivery timelines.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure cohesive production and campaign execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years experience in digital strategy or a similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of :
- Google Suite : Analytics, Tag Manager, Search Console, Merchant Center, My Business, Google Ads.
- SEO Tools : SEMRush, Screaming Frog, and other optimisation tools.
- Social Platforms : Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp.
- Paid Media : Meta Business Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
- Content Marketing : Multi-format content planning and approval.
- Analytics & Reporting : Whatagraph or similar systems.
Skills & Competencies
- Deep understanding of SEO standards, processes, and optimisation techniques.
