DIESEL/ MOTOR MECHANICS LECTURER (PL1) X1 – Contract Post

Contract Period: 2026 Academic Year

Campus: Springfield

Salary Notch: R270 498.00 plus 37% cash in lieu of benefits

Requirements
  • Matric or equivalent
  • Recognized and relevant tertiary qualification in Diesel/Motor Mechanics (REQV 13) and a Trade Test
  • Advanced Teaching Diploma in TVT / Post Graduate Diploma TVET / Diploma in Secondary or Higher Education
  • Valid SACE registration (not provisional)
  • Teaching experience an added advantage
  • Computer Numerical Control Programming an added advantage
  • Sound subject knowledge and work‑related applications
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Passion for teaching and learning
  • Customer care; leadership and management skills; assertiveness; good record keeping and administrative skills; team player; good communication and interpersonal skills
Key Result Areas
  • Assist with enrolment, registration and induction of students
  • Facilitate general academic and career development of students
  • Teaching and learning delivery
  • Assess and evaluate student progress
  • Monitor student attendance register
  • Maintain student attendance and performance records
  • Creating classroom environment conducive to teaching and learning
  • Provide feedback to students regarding their performance and progress
  • Liaise with senior lecturers, head of division and student support services officials to provide support interventions to students
  • Invigilation duties
  • Attend to uploading and management of LMS subject related portal
