DC Supervisor (Dispatch) – Polokwane
Position summary: An exciting opportunity as DC Supervisor (Dispatch) has become available at New Clicks SA (Pty) Ltd. The role will be based in Polokwane DC and will report to the Departmental Manager.
Purpose and Objectives
The role will be responsible for effectively managing a team, ensuring adherence to policies and processes, and meeting productivity targets within a multi‑disciplined environment. The supervisor will assist the DPM with daily manpower and route planning, manage assets, ensure operational readiness, liaise with stakeholders, resolve housekeeping issues, and maintain compliance with safety and internal policies.
Responsibilities
- Assist the DPM with daily manpower planning.
- Assist with daily route planning.
- Check the stationery requirements on a weekly basis.
- Verify that all stores were delivered on time.
- Manage and ensure sufficient assets are available to pick into.
- Assist in the asset cleaning process to ensure quality.
- Remove damaged assets from operation and send them to maintenance for repairs.
- Accept, control and handover returns from stores to the Returns DC.
- Ensure KPI boards are updated daily without exceptions.
- Prepare the dispatch floor for the next picking cycle before picking starts.
- Liaise with all relevant stakeholders—including transporters, picking staff, and Admin—to resolve store queries and notify the store on outcomes.
- Resolve any housekeeping issues within the department (e.g., damaged fence).
- Ensure the Dispatch Admin Clerk reconciles all paperwork daily.
- Debrief with transporters regarding daily delivery trips.
- Assist in managing the department's daily expenses (transport, labour, stationery, etc.).
- Send KPI's to the DPM daily.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements, housekeeping standards, and internal policies.
Knowledge & Skills
- Computer literacy (minimum intermediate Excel level).
- WMS systems and procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic financial skills.
- Analytical skills.
Experience Required
- Understanding of a Distribution Centre/Logistics environment.
- Understanding of the inbound leg of the supply chain process.
- People management experience.
- Health and safety awareness.
- Budgeting experience.
- 2 years of administration experience.
- 2‑3 years within a Distribution Centre/logistics environment.
