Job description

Relevant experience : 6 years or more of experience in maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of HVAC and refrigeration systems in data centers or large industrial facilities.

System experience : Experience in operations and maintenance in a data center environment is preferred, along with familiarity with major HVAC brands (such as MUNTERS / VIKING, CIAT MAGISTER 2, LIEBERT, STULZ, LG) and refrigeration equipment.

Duties

• Monitor all air conditioning units, schedule maintenance of heating and cooling units, monitor mechanical process malfunctions, and install and repair equipment.
• Install metal ductwork, inspect liquid and vapor instruments for efficiency, and maintain electrical and electronic control systems.
• Ensure safety regulations compliance, identify violations, prepare reports, and maintain records within required timeframes.
• Maintain neat uniforms, perform repairs, validate HVAC systems, stay updated on control strategies, install hardware and refrigerants, document activities, and monitor inventory.
• Analyze business performance, maintain customer service quality, and manage value-added processes.
• Maintain truck stock inventory, ensure compliance, inspect systems, and ensure product safety.
• Identify equipment issues, perform repairs, and conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Perform system repairs, maintain safety, manage equipment and supplies, and complete work processes.

Education and Certifications

• Engineering qualification from a Technikon or university of technology accredited by a recognized accrediting body.
• N3-N6 / Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering / Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, accredited by a recognized body.
• Professional Engineering Technician or equivalent, accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa.
• Valid and recognized Trade test accredited by Engineering authorities.
