REACH OUT TO & DUTIES
- Design and implement robust data architectures to support the organisation’s business objectives, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Develop and maintain data models, data integration frameworks, and storage solutions to facilitate seamless data flow and accessibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions and strategies.
- Establish and enforce data governance standards, including data quality, security, and compliance.
- Monitor and optimise data systems to ensure peak performance and reliability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to recommend improvements or innovations in data management and architecture.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for data architecture, processes, and systems.
Job Experience & Skills Required
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- An Honour’s degree in Data Management, Analytics, or Business Administration is advantageous.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Professional Data, or Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer are a plus.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture, , or related roles.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.
- Hands-on experience with data governance, metadata management, and data cataloguing tools.
- Experience leading data-centric projects and mentoring technical teams is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in data modelling, database design, and data warehousing concepts.
- Expertise in SQL and database technologies (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their respective data services.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend), and Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex datasets.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Strategic thinker with attention to detail and a focus on delivering actionable insights.
