Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor all import shipments to ensure smooth customs clearance
• Accurately classify a wide range of commodities under the correct tariff headings
• Determine and validate customs values
• Apply rules of origin and ensure compliance with preferential trade agreements
• Liaise directly with SARS, clients, and internal teams to resolve any tariff or valuation issues
• Ensure full compliance with customs laws, regulations, and company policies
• Keep up to date with the latest changes in customs

Required Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of Harmonized System (HS) Tariff Codes, customs valuation, and rules of origin
• Prior experience in the freight forwarding, logistics, or related industry – non-negotiable
• Familiarity with Cargowise or similar systems is a strong advantage
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
