Title: Curriculum Director Full Time (.5 Lakeview and .5 Montabella)

Reports to: Superintendents

Salary and Benefits: Per the Lakeview Community Schools’ Administrative Salary Schedule

Starting Date: Starting February 2, 2026 (210-day contract – Prorated for the 25-26 school year)

Position Description

The role of the Curriculum Director is to provide leadership for curriculum, instruction and assessment practices for both Lakeview and Montabella Community Schools. The Curriculum Director will work collaboratively with administration and staff of both districts to refine and strengthen aspects of curriculum oversight and Multi-Tiered System of Supports specific to instructional practices and academic support for students.

Required Qualifications

• Must have MA Degree in Curriculum and Instruction or Educational Administration (or willingness to obtain in the timeline outlined in MCL 380.1246)
• Minimum 5 years of successful K-12 teaching experience (preferred)
• Must have high moral character, strong work ethic, and good attendance record.
• Must have strong technology skills including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation applications.
• Extensive knowledge/experience of K-12 curriculum and effective instructional practices preferred.
• Ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues, parents and the community.
• Leadership experience in curriculum, instruction, and MTSS
• Knowledge of Michigan Academic Standards and MDE requirements
• Experience with data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement planning
• Strong communication and collaborative leadership skills
• Content and pedagogical knowledge in research based instructional practices and interventions.
  
  

Position Expectations

• Work closely with administration in the areas of instructional improvement, curriculum development, implementation of programs and overall continuous improvement.
• Participate in district improvement team for MTSS processes (curriculum, continuous improvement and data analysis)
• Assure that curricula align to state standards and work with staff on planning and implementation.
• Assist with curriculum resource adoption process.
• Identify teaching and learning needs, barriers and weaknesses through data analysis.
• Support PLC processes in the districts.
• Assist or lead staff professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by District Administration.
