About the role
The Contracts Manager is responsible for the management of various Contracts for multi‑party renewable energy projects as well as the monitoring and processing of the required work scope which includes, but is not limited to, managing of variations and working closely with the project planning function.
Key Accountabilities
Notices
- Drafting of notices under the different Contracts.
- Record keeping and maintaining of the Notice Register comprising of Notices to and from the Contractor.
- Circulation of the different Notices to relevant stakeholders.
Cost Management
- Management of the cost allocated to each consultant by keeping track of all invoices and setting them off against the allocated budget.
- Creating purchase orders for new Agreements.
- Checking and evaluating invoices.
- Proactively manage and process Variation Orders.
- Evaluate and finalize the monthly Cost certificate.
Reports
- Providing input to the NOA construction and maintenance reports.
- Consolidating and providing input into the monthly report and the CTA reports.
- Coordinate and lead the bi‑weekly internal progress meeting.
- Reviewing the Monthly Progress report from the Contractor and ensuring that the notice register provided corresponds to the internal register.
- Provides input to the Quarterly Project Presentation.
Contract Management
- Development and management of the Contract Management Schedule by ensuring that the team is aware of the Contractual requirements of all the parties at the different stages of the Project.
Risk
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks associated with each project.
- Assisting with populating the Risk Register.
Meeting records
- Attendance of all key meetings and taking minutes/action points of the meeting.
- Distribution of accurate meeting minutes to relevant stakeholders.
- Circulates monthly Contractor CPM Schedule to NOA Trading.
- Traveling and attending on‑site meetings as and when required. Candidate must have a valid SA driver’s license.
Company Secretarial duties
- Involved in the Company due diligence.
Position Specific Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying/Project Administration or equivalent.
Experience
- 5 to 10 years relevant experience in the Contracts Management field with 5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector.
Industry knowledge, technical competence and skills
- Thorough understanding of relevant policies, procedures and standards.
- Record and information management.
- Detailed understanding and interpretation of contracts.
- Understanding the principles of Financial Accounting.
