Job summary

A student housing company in Stellenbosch is seeking a Community & Marketing Coordinator who will foster campus life and build strong relationships among students. The ideal candidate is energetic, creative, and has a degree in marketing or communications. You will manage events, engage with students via social media, and ensure effective communication across various platforms. This role requires strong organizational skills and a passion for community building.

Qualifications

  • Degree in marketing or communications required.
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans; knowledge of a third language is a bonus.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a car are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and run various campus events.
  • Manage campus-level social media accounts.
  • Handle daily communication with students.

Requirements
  • Relevant 3-year degree (Marketing, Communications, or similar)
  • Experience in social media & events
  • Strong communication skills (English + Afrikaans; 3rd language a bonus)
  • Valid driver’s licence + own car
  • Excellent organisational & multitasking ability
  • Confident using Word, Excel, Canva, and basic design tools
  • Passion for youth culture, community building & the CampusKey brand

What You’ll Do
Community
  • Plan and run social, wellness, sport, kindness & workshop events
  • Lead and support mentors
  • Build strong student relationships through touchpoints & wellbeing initiatives
  • Deliver Freshers & Kickstart Week
  • Support Living & Learning & “Go Change the World” programmes
  • Manage collaborations with local brands
  • Keep social spaces tidy, vibey, and on-brand
Marketing
  • Run campus-level Instagram & TikTok (content, posting, engagement)
  • Capture photo/video content and support central campaigns
  • Manage posters, activations, billboards & local visibility
  • Ensure campus website info is up to date
  • Support digital marketing with insights & small content pieces
  • Drive viewings, allocations, and rebookings towards 100% occupancy
Communication
  • Manage daily student comms across WhatsApp, email & DMs
  • Handle crisis communication with support from Central Team
  • Maintain proactive, on-brand communication
