Requirements
- Matric plus an undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6/7) as recognized by SAQA in Graphic Design or any relevant qualification.
- A minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience in visual communication environment.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Skills & Competencies: The incumbent should have knowledge & understanding of the public service / business, be proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). The ability to use Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe After Effects would be advantageous. Other requirements include attention to detail, creative interpretation of design briefs, developing concepts, graphics and layouts, font and readability decisions, creative writing and writing articles, data handling for infographics, knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Communication, report writing & consolidation, planning, organizing & execution, language proficiency, client orientation and customer focus, time management and problem-solving. Ability to cope under pressure and meet targets and deadlines. Good verbal and written communication skills. If shortlisted, candidates will be required to present a strong design portfolio showcasing a variety of work.
Duties
- Render graphic design and visual communication services for implementation of marketing programmes.
- Support internal employee communication initiatives through graphic design services.
- Contribute articles for internal platforms including weekly newsletters, intranet, internet, SMS applications and other appropriate platforms.
- Produce infographics and publications to enhance communication messages.
- Promote the corporate brand and image of the Department in alignment with the approved GPG CI.
- Ensure compliance with GPG Corporate Identity (CI) manual.
- Design, layout and produce print ready artwork for corporate literature, ePosters, branding material and newsletters.
- Offer graphic design services to enhance communication efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate communication mechanisms.
- Update internal communication platforms regularly.
- Ensure that departmental information is available on all communication mechanisms.
- Render assistance in the development and implementation of an internal communications framework.
