About the Role

A leading civil and utilities contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager with strong NEC4 Option C contract experience to join their team on one of Irelands largest and most high-profile infrastructure projects.

This is a strategic, remote position, ideal for someone with a proven background in utility and road infrastructure and a strong grasp of Design & Build (D&B) contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all commercial activities on large-scale infrastructure projects under NEC4 Option C.
  • Oversee cost planning, value engineering, and financial forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations through effective contract administration.
  • Provide commercial insight and input into key strategic decisions.
  • Support pre-contract and post-contract activities including tenders, subcontractor procurement, and pricing strategies.
  • Manage change control processes, claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to drive commercial performance.
Candidate Profile

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager on major infrastructure or utilities projects.
  • In-depth understanding of NEC4 Option C contracts.
  • Extensive knowledge of utility and road infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong familiarity with Design & Build (D&B) contract environments.
  • Ability to work full-time on site in the Dublin region.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
