Job summary

A luxury hospitality group in Cape Town seeks a Host Chauffeur responsible for managing hotel transport and providing excellent guest service. The ideal candidate should have a Tour Guide qualification or relevant experience. Strong knowledge of Cape Town and a valid Driver's License are essential. Flexibility for working nights and weekends is required.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License and PDP essential.
  • Knowledge of Cape Town and its surroundings mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hotel vehicle service and manage transfers.
  • Host and manage high clientele and assist with inquiries.
  • Maintain transfer records and report vehicle faults.

Job description

The Silo Hotel Host Chauffeur will be responsible for all hotel transport operations, for greeting guests at our Lobby entrance and assisting with luggage where necessary. They will be required to deliver on The Royal Portfolio’s Purpose, which is “To give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay”.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures;
  • Operate hotel vehicle service daily, as and when required;
  • Be available to do transfers as required and booked by guests;
  • Checking and maintaining transfer records;
  • Host and manage high clientele and handle guests’ inquiries;
  • Safely transfer guests from point to point;
  • Manager vehicles and report faults;
  • Obey traffic laws;
  • Adaptability and flexibility to do transfers and tours;
  • Winelands, Peninsula and City tours once qualified;
  • Assisting FOH & FO by hosting, greeting guest on arrival, stay overs and departures;
  • Communicating guest’s preferences and requests to Front Desk;
  • Assisting with hosting on the Lobby and Reception levels;
  • Assisting the porter team with luggage where necessary and remaining a vital part of the porter, doormen and welcoming committee on the Lobby level
REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
  • Tour Guide qualification or must have at least 2 years’ experience in a 5* Hotel or 1 years’ experience in a Tour Guide environment
  • Valid Driver’s License and PDP – Essential
  • Knowledge of Cape Town and surrounding areas – Essential
  • Knowledge of Opera, the Property Management System at Operator Level
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and have time-management
  • Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail
  • Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays

It is important that the candidate is able to work as part of a team and is a good cultural fit for The Royal Portfolio. South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document. Please note it is a condition of employment, that all staff undergo a pre-employment polygraph test.
