Role Overview
The Change and Communications Lead is responsible for driving the successful adoption and communication of change initiatives within a project. This role focuses on implementing structured change management processes, fostering a culture of proactive communication, and ensuring that all stakeholders that are affected by this project are aligned with the journey. The role requires a deep understanding of the ADKAR methodology and the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) process, with a focus on employee engagement, training support, and support to ensure seamless transitions during periods of change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of the change management plan across the business using the ADKAR methodology.
- Design, implement, and manage change management strategies.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of change initiatives, including adoption rates and feedback.
- Develop and execute communication strategies that ensure clarity and engagement at all levels of the organization.
- Provide floor support during the transition periods to ensure high levels of employee engagement and change adoption.
- Develop and deliver clear, concise communication plans, aligned with the strategic objectives of the business.
- Work closely with business leaders and stakeholders to tailor messages and ensure alignment.
- Ensure consistent messaging across multiple channels, including internal communication platforms, email, town halls, and leadership briefings.
- Lead the creation of content (presentations, newsletters, updates) and oversee the delivery of high-impact messages to the organization.
- Collaborate with IT and project teams to integrate change management activities with the SDLC, ensuring change is effectively managed throughout each phase of the development cycle.
- Advise on communication strategies and employee engagement during key SDLC milestones (e.g., requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment).
- Work with stakeholders to ensure change readiness and support is available at each stage of the SDLC.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure buy-in and active participation in the change process.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and project teams, offering expertise on change communication strategies.
- Establish and manage metrics to measure the success of change and communication efforts.
- Produce regular reports to provide insights into the progress and effectiveness of change initiatives, using feedback to refine strategies.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling multiple priorities effectively.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
- PROSCI certification (Change Management) is required.
- Familiarity with ADKAR methodology is essential.
- Experience with the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) is required.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in change management.
- Proven ability to manage complex change initiatives.
- Experience with leadership coaching and engaging cross-functional teams through change processes.
- Strong background in stakeholder engagement and communication planning.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage various stakeholders.
- High level of proficiency with communication tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, internal communication tools).
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to address audiences at all levels.
