THE ROLE

We are looking for a skilled CAD Designer with expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D to join our team. The ideal candidate will work on project-specific drawings, adapt products to meet customer needs, and create detailed layout drawings for fencing systems.

This role requires efficient, hands-on thinking and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create project-specific drawings and adapt products based on customer requirements.
• Design and plot fence systems on layouts, ensuring precision and compliance with project specifications.
• Develop detailed layout drawings and technical documentation.
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and prepare technical submittals for projects.
• Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD for detailed design and modelling of fencing systems and related structures & Verification of work standard execution for assigned product group
• Customer Engineering processes support with focus on site layouts, designs of perimeter protection and perimeter control solutions for special and individual orders.
• Providing technical support including (drawings, costs, booking guidelines and after sales service advise) for internal costumers.
• Creation, configuration and maintenance of ERP system codes with bill of materials, manufacturing routings and masterdata information.
• Support to Manufacturing with production specifications, packaging manuals, welding plans, and technology.
• Participation in creation of documentation for Quality Management System

Work Location: Paarl, South Africa

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant qualification in line with skill requirement (Design, CAD, Engineering)
• At least 3 years design experience in a steel, manufacturing or construction environment using SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D
• Prior experience in the fencing industry or related fields advantageous
• Familiarity with gates and fencing design advantageous
• Proficiency in industry standards and testing protocols (desirable but not mandatory)
• Experience with creation of electrical diagrams
• High proficiency in 3D Modeling in SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D for design and drafting.
• Hands-on, practical thinking with the ability to work efficiently and adapt designs as needed.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the capability to work independently.
• Experience with a fencing company and gates design is a plus.
• Knowledge of simulations and calculations is advantageous.
• Acting with Urgency for a quick turnaround and customer satisfaction is a must requirement.
• BOM, Routing creation at ERP system (IFS)
• Languages: Fluent proficiency in English is a must
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to juggle and prioritize a number of competing matters within tight deadlines
• Proactive, energetic with desire to grow through continuous learning
