Introduction

The role involves procuring a range of products to meet business objectives such as profit, quality, and availability, thereby driving market share and profitability within your category. The successful candidate will manage a broad supplier base, fostering effective and collaborative relationships to support these goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end management of the Dairy Department.
  • Drive market share and profitability of the category.
  • Contribute to Category and Supplier strategies.
  • Implement the Dairy category development strategy across stakeholders.
  • Submit weekly Dairy Procurement Plans to meet WW Foods requirements.
  • Manage financial indicators and expenses.
  • Oversee Supplier Category Growth Funds.
  • Develop and execute pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Participate in NPD processes, considering product and price tiers and KPIs.
  • Assist in planning and forecasting products and ranges.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and team members.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, and Assortment & Space teams to maximize sales and promotions.
  • Liaise with Distribution regarding Supply Chain issues.
  • Monitor industry and international trends.
  • Apply finance or management / costing accounting knowledge, with strong Excel skills.
  • Utilize category management experience.
  • Understand margins, GP mechanics, and influencing factors.
  • Demonstrate proactivity and innovation with a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Possess procurement and buying experience within retail, FMCG, dairy, or agriculture sectors, including knowledge of store operations, customer profiles, locations, and competitors.
  • Have at least 5 years of buying or retail experience.
  • Technical understanding of the Dairy category is advantageous.
  • Proven sourcing and supplier management experience.

  • Possess strong commercial skills and understanding of Supply Chain processes and systems.
  • Understand factors affecting product costs and selling prices.
  • Ability to coordinate and deliver the category operating plan.
