Job Purpose

To assist and provide support in the ongoing advancement of a suite of business reporting that will provide insight, stimulate further discussion and assist in decision making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Returns PerformanceReporting
  • Ensure data is accurately and regularly captured onto the relevant information systems to facilitate access to reliable data and reporting for trend analysis and decision making.
  • Manage the daily and weekly update of the sales system.
  • Manage the re-run process regularly to ensure that the system is up to date.
  • Run and distribute sales performance information cubes.
  • Update and distribute daily/ weekly sales tracker reports.
  • Create, analyze and distribute monthly returns reports to Principals and internal recipients.
  • Share with and report relevant data and information to Management teams to enable reliable business decision-making.
  • Ensure that ad hoc requests are adhered to within agreed SLA.
  • Compile Depth of Distribution reports within agreed SLAs.
Principal Back-End Budgeting
  • Calculate and maintain Principal targets by Principal/ Region/ Store/ SKU.
  • Ensure target files are accurately uploaded to internal reporting systems.
  • Liaise with IT and external consultants to resolve discrepancies.
Risk Control
  • Ensure strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Ensure data security when sending data files to recipients.
  • Assist with managing Security Groups/users and user roles related to server and/ or PBI Workspace and/ or team site access.
  • Assist external stakeholders with onboarding to PBI Workspaces – navigation and training.
New Business Support/ BusinessChange Initiatives
  • Provide support and testing for the development of the preliminary business case to support investment.
  • Report and provide recommendations regarding new business and/ or change initiatives ensuring current reporting continuously aligns to the business needs and requirements.
  • Drive reporting to the business.
Master Data Management: Customersand Material
  • Market Segments: Assist Master Data team in maintaining market segments in SAP by sense-checking information and enforcing process when a market segment query occurs.
  • Customer Master Data: Ensure all customers ranked in terms of ABCD volume and that relevant customers are allocated to call cycles.
  • Maintain merchandising attributes and ensure updates are uploaded timeously to the SAP system.
  • Material Master Data: Maintain merchandising attributes and ensure updates are uploaded timeously to the SAP system.
  • Maintain updated Store Universe information for use by Management.
  • Investigate discrepancies that may arise between the different touch points.
  • Partnering with IT and other internal groups to address.
  • Master Data Management: Sales ForceHierarchy.
  • Update and maintain call cycle data for upload to the Salesforce system.
  • Maintain Salesforce system with call cycle integrity including data cleansing, record maintenance, and data linkages to other source systems.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify ongoing business enablement needs.
  • Investigate discrepancies that may arise between the different touch points.
  • Update of HR Org Data on a monthly basis to ensure Master Data accuracy.
  • Ensure Customer Hierarchies is updated monthly.
  • Reporting on staff and stores not allocated to call cycles.
  • Reporting on Redundant Positions/Call cycles.
  • Call cycle frequency and duration reports.
  • Pack out rate calculation and reporting on deviations.
  • Conducting call cycle workshops if/ when needed by the business.
  • Support salesforce initiatives by Management.
Month End Reporting
  • Update/refresh and distribute client rebates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Update/refresh month end Service Level reports and Returns Reports and distribute to Principals and Internal Sales Teams.
  • Monthly refresh and distribution of the principal excel files.
Information and Data Management
  • Work with Management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Data cleansing and processing large amounts of raw data.
  • Data mining using available tools, such as Pivot Tables.
  • Solving business problems by mapping and tracing data.
  • Generating reports from single or multiple systems.
  • Assist with evaluating of internal systems for efficiencies, problems and inaccuracies.
  • Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
  • Training end users on new reports and dashboards.
Administration
  • Oversee filing and safeguarding of records within area of responsibility.
  • Compile ad hoc spreadsheets when required.
  • Ensure that data captured on management systems is backed up.
Team Coordination
  • Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning, prioritizing and self-development.
  • Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.
  • Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution.
  • Support and drive the business core values.
  • Manage colleagues and clients’ expectations and communicate appropriately.
  • Demonstrate willingness to help others and “go the extra mile” to meet team targets and objectives.
  • Champion training and development of self and others through utilizing available training opportunities or contributing to the development of new training solutions in collaboration with national training specialists.
  • Participate in and drive regular performance appraisals and ensure that own targets and goals are clear and achievable.

  • A National Diploma in Sales Management preferably studying towards a BCom.
