Description/Synopsis

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, qualifying and shaping new commercial opportunities across domestic, regional and export markets, for an established Company in the manufacturing/agriculture sector. This role will partner with Export, Supply Chain, Processing and Marketing, working closely with the Sales team to convert opportunities into revenue.

Minimum Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Business, Sales, Marketing, or similar
  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in new business development, sales, or key account management, specifically within manufacturing, production, agriculture, processing, timber, construction or related sectors
  • Knowledge of B2B client acquisition, buying behaviour, customer requirements, and competitor dynamics in industrial markets
  • Understanding of pricing fundamentals, cost-to-serve, margin logic, and product positioning
  • Proven track record in meeting revenue and growth targets, and “closing” deals
  • Negotiation, presentation, and proposal writing skills
  • Strong relationship-building and communication abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of CRM and sales pipeline management
Main Responsibilities
  • Research, Identify, target, and acquire new business opportunities in identified sectors
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve or exceed targets
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver solutions aligned with client requirements
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities relevant to manufacturing, production, construction, processing, and timber sectors
  • Manage the sales pipeline - report regularly on pipeline development, sales activity, and performance metrics
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and related documentation for all business development activities
  • Represent the company at relevant industry events, networking engagements, and presentations
